MUNICH, February 16, - The Malaysian Defence Minister, YB Mohamad bin Sabu attended the Munich Security Conference (MSC) 2020 held in Munich, Germany from 14 to 16 February 2020.
Since its inception over five decades ago, MSC 2020 has grown into one of the world-leading conferences on international security policies. It has welcomed over 500 high-ranking international decision-makers including the heads of state, cabinet ministers, as well as leading experts from around the globe.
This conference addressed pressing global security concerns including arms control, challenges to regional security, missile dialogue initiatives, multilateralism and global power shifting.
YB Mohamad’s attendance to the MSC 2020 was part of the credible partnership outlined in the Defence White Paper (DWP) under the framework of defence diplomacy initiative to promote positive defence relations through bilateral and multilateral platforms in addressing regional and international defence and security issues of common concerns.
During this visit, YB minister also took the opportunity to meet with the Malaysian diaspora in Germany. This session was aimed at sharing the essence of the DWP that outlines defence long term strategy to ensure Malaysia continues to be a secure, sovereign and prosperous nation.
