Kuala Lumpur, February 24, 2020- Secretary-General, Datuk Muez bin Abd Aziz completed the closing of Perwira Dialogue 2020 located at Wisma Perwira ATM today.
This dialogue aims to help scholars and consultants experts who were invited to share their assessment and exchange views on the DWP in 2020, including the sharing of credible and regional capabilities as the main idea. This includes three important pillars of the Defence Strategy of Malaysia, its position as a maritime nation with the chronology of continental and vision as a gate rod between Asia-Pacific and the Indian Ocean, each of which has a goal to contribute to the national defence, the centrality of ASEAN, stability regional, as well as security and shared prosperity.
In addition this dialogue is expected to generate multiple views on the basic premise and an assessment of the challenges and opportunities in implementing the DWP.
The opening address was delivered by the Director General of the Institute of Security and Defence (MiDAS), Mr. Noor Hisham bin Rosle and the keynote address was delivered by the Chief of Defence Forces, General Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Haji Affandi bin Buang RMAF.
This dialogue was attended by over 200 guests including representatives from the Ministry of Defence, Local and Regional Thinking Groups, Security and National Holders, Government-Linked Companies, Institutes and local Embassies.
Also present were Deputy Defence Minister, Liew Chin Tong, the Commander-in-Chief, and the Ministry of Defence's top management.
