REPUBLIC OF TURKIYE, 10 June 2024 – Minister of Defence, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin represented Malaysia during the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Malaysia and Republic of Turkiye Signing Ceremony on the procurement for defence products. 

The successful signing of the MoU will benefit both countries, leveraging Turkiye’s reputation as a powerhouse and pioneer in defence technologies and their success in positioning their defence industry among the best in the world.

Both countries reaffirmed their commitment by establishing a special committee to plan strategic initiatives and monitor progress.

Concurrently, the Minister of Defence also witnessed the presentation ceremony for the Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the procurement of the second batch of three Littoral Mission Ships (LMS) by the Government to Turkiye’s defence company, STM. STM reiterated their commitment to the deadline for the three LMS, set to be completed within three years and six months.
