MINISTER OF DEFENCE’S VISIT TO RKAT TAMAN SERULING

SELANGOR, 22 April 2024 – Minister of Defence, YB Khaled Nordin conducted a Working Visit to the Armed Forces Family Housing (RKAT) at Taman Seruling, and attended the Aidilfitri Open House Ceremony with the personnel of Kem Erskine, Kuala Kubu Bharu.

This visit aims to take a closer look at the housing environment and the condition of government residential buildings for Army personnel on duty at Kem Erskine, including both occupied houses and vacant residential buildings due to damage.

Overall, the maintenance of RKAT Taman Seruling involves 245 units, with a breakdown of 11 units for officers, 28 units for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (PTTK), and 206 units for Junior Non-Commissioned Officers (PTTR).

After the visit, the YB Minister of Defence mingled with the camp residents and presented a mock check amounting to RM 596,283.00, which is the RKAT Maintenance Allocation and Accommodation Block for the 4th Royal Signal Regiment’s Infantry Division in 2024.

Additionally, 19 Year 1 students, who are children of military personnel, received a one-off MADANI Education Contribution of RM 50.00 each, deposited into their National Education Savings Scheme accounts (SSPN Prime Savings), in collaboration with the LTAT - YLTAT Foundation.

This was followed by the presentation of welfare assistance, which included a one-off donation of RM 300.00 by YLTAT to 10 recipients who are members or relatives suffering from chronic diseases.
