Perak, 5 September 2024 – Minister of Defence, YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, attended the Executive Lecture Defence Minister Programme at Dewan Tuanku Canselor, Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). 

The event was coordinated by the Officer Cadet Reserve Training Team (PALAPES) and jointly organized by the National Centre for Defence Studies (PUSPAHANAS) and the Reserve Forces Mobilisation Division of the Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters (MATM-BMAS) in conjunction with the upcoming 42nd Royal Parade Ceremony and the Commissioning and Conferment of Certificates to PALAPES cadets on 21 September 2024.

During the programme, the Minister of Defence delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the significance of the Angkatan Sukarela (Voluntary Forces) and its alignment with the Pertahanan Menyeluruh (HANRUH) national defence strategy. Through bilateral sharing sessions, the programme highlighted the importance of the Whole of Government and Whole of Society (WoGoS) approach in strengthening the identity and role of PALAPES.

YB Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin also officiated the Rank Conferment Ceremony for senior officers in the Territorial Army and Royal Malaysian Navy Reserves Force (PSSTLDM). Recipients included the Vice Chancellors of Universiti Malaya, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and Universiti Teknologi MARA.
