GENTING HIGHLANDS, 29 April 2025 – YBhg. Datin Roszanina binti Wahab, Deputy Secretary General (Management) of the Ministry of Defence Malaysia, representing the Secretary General, delivered the keynote address at the 21st Track II Network of ASEAN Defence and Security Institutions (NADI) Annual General Meeting themed “ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity.”
Speaking on behalf of the Secretary General, she urged ASEAN member states to strengthen regional solidarity in facing increasingly complex security challenges. She also commended the swift humanitarian response provided to Myanmar following the recent earthquake, reflecting ASEAN’s unity and resilience in times of crisis.
Reinforcing the Secretary General’s message, she outlined Malaysia’s three main priorities under its ASEAN Chairmanship 2025: maintaining regional stability, enhancing ASEAN’s diplomatic influence through the ADMM and ADMM-Plus frameworks, and fostering deeper defence and strategic partnerships.
The Secretary General also underscored the importance of ASEAN maintaining neutrality amidst global geopolitical rivalries, highlighting collective action as the key to securing regional peace and prosperity. Furthermore, NADI was recognised as a vital platform contributing to the development of ASEAN’s defence and security strategies.
